We know higher education websites. Our goal is simple: to bring order to higher ed’s wild, wild Web. We understand the challenges facing higher education and the growing demands placed on Web teams. What is Web governance?
Web governance encompasses everything needed to manage your university’s Web presence in an efficient and orderly way. The scale or size of your website will drive the activities required to manage it and the resources needed to perform those activities. In other words, a small website requires fewer activities to manage it, which in turn requires fewer resources.
Why invest in Web governance?
Simply put, Web governance is the framework that keeps a website standing. Resource management, maintenance, content development, strategy, teams, procedures, tools and, yes, budgets are all aspects of Web governance. Principal Consultant / President
Having worked at both large public and small private institutions, Matt understands the unique challenges that come with a university website. He has more than 13 years experience in digital strategy for higher education. Matt is active in both the higher education and Web communities in advocating for the use of Web technologies. He is also a co-founder of the BlogHighEd blog network and a member of the HighEdWeb Associated Membership and Leadership Academy Committees.
Much of his recent work has focused on developing Web teams and Web governance frameworks–most recently at Creighton University and Florida International University. He led a major website redesign project for Creighton, following the university’s move to the Big East. For Florida International University, Matt was the driving force behind an ADA compliance audit of the school’s website and implemented processes to ensure future compliance.
